Spend your summer days on the sparkling waters of Deep Creek Lake! From boating to paddle-boarding to kayaking, there's so much to do!
Experience the lake life at Deep Creek Lake! As the largest freshwater lake in Maryland, Deep Creek is an oasis for visitors and locals. On any given summer day, you’ll see boats, kayaks, jet skis, and so much more!
Boating
There’s nothing quite like a day on the water! Whether you’re looking for relaxing day on a pontoon or something a little sportier, there are plenty of marinas in the area that offer rentals and new boats. Deep Creek is also unique because many businesses and restaurants offer docks for their customers! Boats are also essential for some of the other fun lake activities, like tubing and water-skiing. You can bring your own boat, too! The public boat launch is located beside the Deep Creek Lake State Park. There are some restrictions and regulations you should be aware of if you bring your own boat, and you can read all of that here.
Water Sports
Enjoy the adrenaline on the lake with a fun water sport! Early mornings on the lake are the best for water-skiing, when there’s less lake traffic and smooth waters. Wake-boarding has also been a very popular lake sport and there are often demonstrations throughout the summer! Wake-surfing has grown in popularity in the last few years and has taken Deep Creek Lake by storm! Another new activity that’s grown in popularity is stand-up paddleboarding – trust us, you have to try it!
Jet Skis
If you’re looking for a little more of a rush on the water, you can rent jet skis at several locations around the lake! Jet skis (sometimes referred to as ‘personal water crafts’ or PWCs) can usually accommodate two people or you can ride solo. Each company will have their own policy when it comes to renting jet skis, so make sure you call ahead! Deep Creek also has some restrictions on when jet skis can be used for safety reasons.
Tubing
Tubing on the lake is one of the most fun activities you can do! It’s suitable for most ages and skill levels, and the boat driver can control how smooth, slow, or fast they go. Tubes can be rented at marinas and other local shops. You can rent or buy a wide variety of tubes, including fun banana tubes!
Once you book or plan your vacation, make sure to call ahead and make reservations!
